Spanish
Future Tense - Compound FutureThere are two ways to form
the Spanish future tense. Here we will deal with the compound
future tense (using the verb ir
+ a + infinitive).
In
part two we'll talk about the future tense in Spanish, more
specifically the simple future tense (conjugating a verb to future
tense). The compound Spanish future is formed by
conjugating the verb ir,
and then adding the infinitive form of the verb you want to make future
tense. How about an example? How
would you say, I'm going
to sing (cantar) ? Voy a cantar. | Conjugation
of ir | plus
a | plus
infinitive | | Voy | a | cantar |
This
is always the construction you will make if you want to form the
compound future in Spanish. Now you just need to know
how to conjugate the verb ir.... voy
vas
va
vamos
váis
van Ready for another example?
How would you say He's
going to shave (afeitarse)? Él
va a
afeitarse. So, do you think you understand
the concept? Let's
find out by taking the quiz. Return
